A South African father and son have won $750,000 (£570,000) at the Darpa Heavy Lift Challenge in Ohio, after designing a 13kg hexacopter drone guided by a CubePilot Cube autopilot that lifted nearly four times its own weight over 2.8 nautical miles. Their aircraft is now set to join the National Museum of the US Air Force.
